Our Mission

The Center is dedicated to providing a spectrum of psychotherapeutic services for individuals and their families on a sliding scale basis. The Center’s clinical counseling programs are theoretically influenced in order to help clients achieve healthy relationships and meaningful lives. The Center staff is also committed to providing safe, ethical, and professional services to all Center stakeholders including the education and training of students/interns pursuing Marriage and Family Therapy (LMFT), Professional Clinical Counseling (LPCC), and Clinical Social Work licensure (LCSW).

Our Vision

Based upon The Center’s long-standing tradition of excellence in providing community mental health services, our vision is to promote flexibility in counseling practices addressing the community’s ever changing needs. As well, The Center is committed to providing culturally competent psychotherapeutic offerings both in prevention and treatment of clinical disorders for current and future clients. The Center will also maintain its legacy of educating and training students/interns seeking licensure by staying apprised of changing accrediting, licensing, and national standards.

Theory of Practice

The Center’s theory of practice is a strengths-based model that empowers individuals and their families in a collaborative and respectful partnership, designed to integrate both external and internal resources required for independent living while participating in community.

Theory for Practice

The Center embraces psychodynamic and systems theories by incorporating the assessments, goals, and interventions provided by these theoretical practices such as solution focused techniques, motivational interviewing, trans-generational patterns, and archetypal predispositions. The application of psychological theories into treatment planning encompasses the basis of educational training for the Center’s students/interns.
